This fall, our new organic backpacks and waist bags will be launched! Thoughtful classic design, organic materials, and fun are what permeate the products. The bags are made of waxed canvas, a material that will only become more beautiful over the years. All accessories such as clasps, etc. are completely plastic-free. On the outside, the bags look simple and classic, but inside they hide several well-planned pockets. Among the waist bags, there is a special edition where My Feldt has created a beautiful and vibrant pattern of her wonderful watercolor flowers. With the mix of OMOM's timeless and minimalist design and My's playful creativity, we think together we have made a truly fantastic new collection!

There is also much to say about our new manufacturer, Since they started 8 years ago, they have established a workplace that stands out from an otherwise tough working climate in the textile industry in India. But driven by a desire to be different, they have chosen to work in an alternative way with wages, working hours, and a safe workplace for the artisans. Certifications and memberships they have and work with include SEDEX, Smeta, SA8000 Standard and Certification System, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018. They are currently building a new facility with solar panels and a rainwater purification system to make the place even more aligned with environmental aspects. The new building will also be adapted and accessible for wheelchairs as they want to be able to employ and provide economic opportunities to artisans who otherwise have difficulty finding jobs due to disabilities. Another important part of their work concerns their collaboration with Prameya Foundation.

Prameya Foundation is a non-profit organization striving to promote environmental sustainability through various community development projects. Their focus is on school education, skills development, and agrotourism to promote self-sufficient eco-villages. By purchasing a bag from us, you support Prameya Foundation and their school Paathshala. You also support their environmental conservation program in the Sundarban area, a river delta between India and Bangladesh, home to one of the world's largest mangrove forests. For every bag you buy from us in this collection, mangroves are planted in the area as part of the conservation program. Mangroves are not a specific tree but a collection of trees and shrubs that live in salt or brackish water. Mangroves absorb and store between 6 and 8 times more carbon dioxide than rainforests, providing enormous benefits for emissions. Besides the wildlife that depends on the mangrove forest, they also help against rising sea levels and cyclones. Prameya is deeply committed to counteracting the effects of climate change and facilitating coexistence between people and nature, with planting being part of their work.
