We are happy to announce that OMOM has initiated an exciting and meaningful collaboration with another manufacturer in India driven by good intentions. They, and we through them, work with Prameya Foundation, a prominent non-profit organization working for sustainable development and environmental protection. We believe that in this way we will be able to help more people obtain good and fair working conditions within the textile industry while contributing to social projects that truly make a difference.
Prameya Foundation, with its passion and effort to combat the effects of climate change where it is needed, has created a significant impact through projects focusing on ecosystem protection, community development, and environmental awareness. Their work has been focused on areas such as the eastern Himalayan belt and Sundarbans, where they support indigenous communities and work to preserve valuable ecosystems.

In OMOM's diligent search for more manufacturers who work in the way that matters, that is, with fair working conditions and a desire to change the norm within textile work; especially with living wages for the artisan as well as humane working hours, we have now finally found another manufacturer with the same vision.
This allows OMOM to now broaden its product range, while we support primarily Prameya's project of running a school in Sundarbans, where children live in extreme poverty. Being able to attend school gives them a community where they can receive, besides an education, food and a good environment to stay in during the day. The manufacturer we are now starting our collaboration with is actively involved in advancing the school by, for example, paying the salaries of all adults involved in the school. As a brand, we also have the opportunity to directly help with financial resources for projects that need to be carried out in the village around the school, which we plan to do. Follow us on the blog for more information!
Prameya Foundation's first project is to preserve the natural habitat of the mangrove, and especially the women in the village are very enthusiastic about taking responsibility for planting mangrove trees. They are also strongly committed to running the school, where they strive to raise environmental awareness through activities such as school education, skills development, and agrotourism. The organization aims to counteract the effects of climate change in areas like the eastern Himalayan belt and Sundarbans. They strongly believe that even though the mountains and mangroves have a negligible impact on global climate change, they are the ones who suffer the most.
We are happy to be part of Prameya Foundation's valuable work and look forward to making a positive impact together. Through this collaboration, we strengthen our commitment to sustainable development in poor villages in India. When you shop with us, you also contribute to these social projects that we find so important. Thank you!
