What happens when our manufacturer has an audit
Today, our manufacturer has an audit, meaning an independent review of the factory. This is part of how you ensure that production works as it should and that everything meets the existing requirements.
An audit is about reviewing how the factory actually operates daily. It looks at working conditions, safety, wages, working hours, and how materials and chemicals are handled. It also reviews documentation and procedures to ensure everything complies with laws and standards.
The person conducting the audit is not part of the factory but comes from outside, often from a customer or a certification company. They walk around the production, check the environment, and sometimes talk to staff.
Afterwards, the factory receives a report. If anything needs improvement, they get a list of points to address and a timeline for it.
For us, this is an important part of how we work with our suppliers. It’s about knowing that what is produced is done responsibly and that there is a structure that holds over time.
This is also an important part when we work internationally and with retailers who demand full transparency in how production is carried out.
Even though we are not on site today, we are part of the process through our requirements and collaborations. This is how we build a more transparent and sustainable production from the start.
